What are Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and why does Culligan with ZeroWater Technology remove them?

TDS are dissolved minerals, salts and metals in water from sources like pipes, road salts and fertilizers. Our filters remove 99.9% of TDS for the purest-tasting water and reverse-osmosis-level filtration in a pitcher or dispenser.
How do I know my filter is working?

Use the included TDS meter to see your filter working. When it reads 6 ppm or higher and the amber light turns on, replace your filter. Some people may also notice a change in their water’s taste or smell when it’s time for a new filter.
How often will I need to replace the filter?

Filter life depends on your tap water: more dissolved solids mean your filter works harder and needs replacing sooner. Most filters last 1–2 months, but well or hard water, 500+ ppm TDS or using 11+ cups a day can all shorten filter life.
Why does filtration take longer than standard filters?

Our 5-stage filtration is intentionally slower because reducing more contaminants takes time. Allow about 10–13 minutes to filter 10 cups. Slow flow is normal and does not mean your filter needs replacing.
Will it fit in my fridge?

Check dimensions for fridge fit. Our 7–32 cup models are 10.5" tall, about the height of a gallon of milk, which may require shelf adjustment. Larger 40- and 52-cup dispensers are better suited for countertops.
